Thursday, February 17 - Kim Riggs shared her experiences on the trail, as well as her training and preparation to ride the ITI 350 three times, and her latest adventure 1000-mile adventure to Nome in 2019. My takeaways were many. Here are a few on immediate recall: Butter in coffee is a thing! Eat every hour - set your timer.
Thursday, February 24, 4-6pm AKST - Fat Thursday: A round table discussion about training and racing the ITI -
Join us for a discussion and Q & A about endurance winter riding with a fat group of Alaskan (and one honorary Alaskan) women. Panelists have all raced the ITI, among other feats, and include Heather Best, Amy Breen, Kara Lackey, Kathi Merchant, Tracey Petervary, Missy Schwartz, Bobette Rowe, and Janice Tower. Three of the women have raced both the 350 and 1000 mile events, and two of the women are current record holders. Three of the fat women will race the 350 mile event in 2022 and you can follow their pink dots live via Trackleaders and cheer them on beginning February 27.
